Is there a market demand for 15 minute living?
Do people really want to live car-free in LA?
Answer: More people than you’d think.
One of the more frequent questions we get is: “Who would want to live without a car?” “LA is a car town.” “No one wants to live in Los Angeles without a car.”
But the market research says otherwise.

Approximately 200,000 households in the City of Los Angeles do not have access to a car, and many of those households tend to be concentrated in communities of color. A Metro ridership survey from 2022 showed that more than 72% of riders were Black or Latinx, and 62% lived in households that made less than USD $25,000 annually, a common indicator for poverty.
